Many American'southward love to explore United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland for a vacation and while hither like well-nigh tourists they enjoy eating out, but what happens when that eating house they came across turns out to be a Wetherspoons.

The person missing their order sandwich
"We popped in for a Friday night dinner, not terribly late. I went to the bar to order food, as is pub customary, the bartender said they were "out of order sandwiches." Not sure how that happens, unless they were out of one ingredient.
"I looked at the menu and ordered my son a salary cheeseburger, well washed. The bartender kid said: "They simply practice it ane style -- medium." So ... they couldn't exit it on the grill a bit longer?"
Missing a Sunday roast
"The website indicated that Sunday Roast was available, only when we staggered through the pelting after arriving from the USA, we institute that Not to be true," said 1 customer.
"Hamburger was relatively tasteless, fries soggy, staff lackadaisical. Best thing was the proper name of the institution and the brews on tap. Beautiful pub simply not what was advertised."
Not a fan of football
Another said: "Y'all find a table if y'all tin can and squat and note your table number, and get gild food and drink at the bar. We had a political party of nigh fifteen and this arrangement worked quite well on the forepart end of our prowl.
"Later, after our cruise, non so much, because the Globe Cup was going on and you couldn't even become close to getting into the place. The English LOVE their futbol!
"Simply a nice experience overall. Americans need to acquire to go with the catamenia when travelling and not be so uptight about expectations."
'Posh and trendy'
One said: "This is a wonderful place! The food is delicious, the drinks cold, and the staff friendly! Information technology is posh and trendy and so well maintained. Nosotros were at that place for breakfast and staff were shining the brass on the doors and railings.
"Every waiter/waitress went out of their way to nourish to whoever they were waiting on. The manager was at that place both times nosotros were and was on the job, helping staff and making sure people were taken care of.
"The USA needs The Crosse Keys"
The ketchup hunter
"Good chili canis familiaris and chips. Service was first-class simply wasn't very fast. Had to hunt down my own ketchup (is this only an American problem?)."
A 'vanilla' experience
"Wetherspoons is well-nigh as vanilla equally a pub can be. When turning up on a Saturday night, I was not surprised to find the place packed. Finding a table was next to impossible, and when we did find one, it was filthy.
"We never saw a unmarried person cleaning tables anywhere in the institution in the almost ii hours we were there. I would suggest getting the Wetherspoons app and using that to order.
"As an American, I was too polite at the bar and people simply jumped upwardly in front of me so it took quite a while to get an gild placed. Prices are very good for London, simply don't await v star food or service."

Bar confusion
"Information technology took us a minute to figure out how to order, every bit Americans nosotros are used to servers coming to table. Once nosotros were told to order at the bar all went well. Friendly people fifty-fifty during a busy period.
"Smashing spot to eat a expert meal with many beers on tap. This is a laid back pub well-nigh a block south of Tower Bridge. We went on a Monday afternoon/evening at almost 7pm and it was placidity, mostly couples eating. The drinks were good. The nutrient menu was interesting.
"A fusion of everything. There is "British chili con carne" on the menu. Steak and kidney pie is facing information technology off confronting burritos, curry, and naan.
"No sushi, just a broad assortment of burgers, near of an American theme (i.eastward., Tennessee Burger)."
The British Appleee's
"Nosotros ate here our first night is London as information technology was beyond the street from our flat. A comparable restaurant in America would be TGIFridays, or Applebee's. Bar staff was quick to take our order, and food arrived non long after.
"The food was good, but in comparison to other places we ate, it was not the best. It was fairly crowded when we ate there, and we walked by numerous other times during our stay and information technology always seemed busy. Generally a skillful sign for whatsoever restaurant. Advice.
"Nosotros arrived and waited a moment to be seated, then sat ourselves. Waited to exist served, then nosotros went to the bar. Obviously, that information technology the right matter to exercise. Fortunately, I noted the number on the table earlier I ordered. Or you lot tin utilize their app."
